Mentorship Seminars with Ahn Do-Hyun, author & professor
Multi-million bestselling, award-winning Korean poet
Oxford International Services(OIS) will co-host the seminars-lectures and mentoring with a highly influential professor and poet from Korea-for Korean Canadians and youth with Toronto Korean Canadian Youth Centre (TKCYC) which provides advocacy, educational programs, leadership training, social services and broad supports to emphasize positive growth in youth, to develop the next generation of leaders and to prevent or reduce antisocial behavior, and mental and physical difficulties.
During this event, not only audiences will enrich their emotional and cultural thirst for their immigrant life, but also Canadian youth will have an opportunity for obtaining a positive message for their future.

Author Introduction =
안도현(Ahn Do-hyun) – a poet &
professor of Dankook University
Ahn
Do-hyun is a multi-million bestselling, award-winning Korean poet. He was born
in 1961 in Yeocheon, Korea, and graduated from Wonkwang University where he
studied Korean literature. His writing career took off when he won the Daegu
Maeil Newspaper Annual Literary Contest with his poem ‘Nakdong River’ in 1981
and the Dong-A Ilbo Dairy Annual Literary Contest with his poem ‘Jeon Bong-jun
Goes to Seoul’ in 1984. Ahn also received the 1996 Young Poet’s Award and the
1998 Kim So-wol Literature Prize. His modern fable, “The Salmon Who Dared to Leap Higher”
is his first work to be translated into 17 different languages – English,
French, Chinese, Japanese, German, Vietnamese, .. – read and loved by readers
all over the world.
Ahn Do-Hyun’s poetry is rooted in traditional
lyric poetry. He is seen as a poet that depicts the reality of the nation and
society with fine sensitivity beyond personal levels, despite the fact that he
uses personal experiences as the base of his poetry. He is also well-known for
the lyrical portrayal of life and history from the perspective of pure youth,
his literary works that describes the reality of the nation and society with
delicate sensitivity.
In
addition, he also gives humanity lectures to both domestic and overseas
Koreans, enriching their emotional and cultural thirst for their life by this
event.
In
addition, he facilitates mentoring seminars for the youth to motivate them and
elevate their dreams and hopes by sharing his experiences and opinions with
open conversation.
